The Emakoko Hotel Nairobi

Want to escape the hustle and bustle of Nairobi? Then Emakoko Hotel Nairobi is your go-to place when in town, when you crave some tranquility but still need to be within close proximity of the city.

Located on the border of the Nairobi National Park and along the steep slopes of Mbagathi River, Emakoko seats on a 5-acre piece of land.

A combination of the wilderness and the city is odd but so strikingly beautiful.

There are 10 rooms within the property, all very spacious, all en suite with huge luxurious beds, black-out curtains, and a private verandah overlooking the river and the park. 5 of these rooms are on the main level and 5 are built into the cliff face higher up.

To get to the upper rooms you could go on foot or you could take the funicular lift, both from which you enjoy the spectacular views.

Their private house is designed to feel like a home away from home with its own private outdoor space, pool, living room, bar, and dining area.

All rooms have top to bottom windows which let in the beauty of the National Park and make it feel like an entirely surreal experience.

The bathtub is placed right next to one of these windows allowing you to create a beautiful moment with a bubble bath, a glass of wine, a book, and the magnificent landscape.

The entire hotel is designed to feel like part of the wildlife.

The wooden textures along the paths, the rails, and the furniture are an embodiment of the jungle. The indoor-outdoor feel is perfectly structured to be able to enjoy the beauty of the park from every point of the hotel.

There is a common lounge, a bar, dining area, and a swimming pool area that lights up at night highlighting its beauty.

The staff is consistently attentive and ready to cater to your needs and there is always a guard on duty during the day and at night therefore the place is quite secure.

There is a terrace with a pizza oven on the property making the pizza feel like home with a touch of chef expertise.

The bar serves a variety of drinks. Their trademark “dawas” are a must-try.

Dawa is a widely enjoyed drink in Kenya made from ginger, lemon, honey, and hot water.

Dawa with the Emakoko Chili Twist could be a fun one to try if you’re adventurous.

Relax at The Emakoko hotel Nairobi

Activities to try out while you are at Emakoko include a massage at the spa overlooking the park, shopping for locally crafted treasures in their boutique, a visit to the communities that border the National Park, and private game drives where it is possible to see at least four of the big five.

Sometimes you are just looking for a break to rest and a staycation within the loud city does not seem to cut it.

You could also be coming into the country and are looking for a place to stay over for a few days before your trip to other parts of the country.

The Emakoko Hotel Nairobi is always the right fit. The peace from the wildlife, the glorious sunset, the ambiance, and the people. It all comes down to a wholesome experience.
