Top Makeup Artists in Africa

African make-Up artists are making their mark in the beauty industry.

They boost the self-esteem of many people with their talent. They show off their talents consistently and do not shy away from mixing and blending colours to try on their clients.

They use outstanding and breathtaking techniques to contour, highlight and enhance the beauty of many individuals.

Makeup for the black skin is very unique as you cannot just use any sort of products to get the required results. As unique as the skin is, so is their makeup.

These African makeup artists have tried their best in providing for the needs of Africans by making available sophisticated and classy products that soothes their skins.

These make-up artists have become popular and are being recognized as Africa’s heavyweights. Here is a list of 4 artists swerving and swirling their make-up brushes in the right direction:

1. Joy Adenuga

Joy Adenuga is an award winning, Nigerian and London based professional make-up artist. She specialises in bridal make-up, and is an expert in her own right and is very talented.

She is also a melanin specialist, a beauty expert and an educator. She has worked at so many beauty companies hosting teaching events and helping brides look their best on their wedding days.

Joy’s skills have no limits and she is internationally recognized. Makeup for Joy was natural. She had so much passion for makeup and especially for the black skin after she took a course in makeup that didn’t cover the black skin.

The coloured people weren’t totally accepted in the makeup and modelling industry because of their colours.

This was so much that some industries put black magazines off their PR lists. She wanted so much to work on the colour she learnt.

However, she was always rejected as a black makeup artist. This made her start her own makeup line which was inspired by the black skin.

Conclusion

These make-up artists love what they do as it helps them put smiles on people’s faces. Recently, I met a lady who was a victim of a fire accident and as a result got her face really tampered with. However, the day a friend of mine decided to do some makeup on her face, she looked so beautiful afterwards and felt so confident with all smiles. If makeup means putting smiles on people’s faces, then it is a higher good.

There are other elite makeup artists on the continent who continue to perfect their crafts and are as equally respected. They have even garnered fan bases in their respective countries and on social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok.
